Words from the Bible

Each month, you can find the words from the Bible. Move your mouse over the question marks and the missing words will appear.

I’m sure you in the past you have had to ? something that you have lost and that you need. To ? something can take time especially if you don’t know where to look! You might want to look in your bedroom, in your house, at school or in the shop… or... It all depends on what you have to ? .
To ? it and not to find it is really disappointing, on the other hand, to ? it and to find it is a real joy, a real relief, especially if what you were looking for was valuable.

In the Bible, God’s word, in Luke’s Gospel, chapter 2 we read that Joseph and Mary, Jesus’ mother went with him to Jerusalem when he was 12 years old, it was the feast of the Passover.

When the festival was over each family went back to their own homes. Thinking that Jesus was with other members of the group Mary and Joseph travelled a full day before noticing he was missing. They started to ? him among their relatives and acquaintances. When they couldn’t find him they went back to Jerusalem to ? him there.

After three long days they found him in the temple, sat in the middle of the religious leaders, asking them questions and listening to their answers. Everyone who heard him was struck by the intelligence of his response. When Jesus’ parents saw him they were surprised and asked “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
Jesus replied, “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then Jesus went back with Joseph and Mary. They had looked for him and they found him.
Many years later, Jesus told a story to those who were with him: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.”
Jesus is the good shepherd. He came to ? us, so that we would no longer be lost and to lead us to the house of our heavenly father!
You are so important to God that he sent his only Son Jesus to ? you, to ? me so that we could go with him to our heavenly home. Because he loves us God came to find us…to save us.
Why don’t you answer these questions?
- How old was Jesus when he went to Jerusalem with Mary and Joseph?
- When you ? something, do you keep looking until you find it?
- Why did God send Jesus to ? us?
