KINSHASA AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD
In April we visited the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a little north of the Equator. It was really hot. It was the school holidays and more than 1200 children came to “the Borne” church over the six days. Why? Because there was a huge celebration of Easter.

Jesus died but he did not stay dead! After three days he rose again! Lots of people saw him. Then Jesus went back into Heaven. His friends were sad: They were going to be without Jesus! But Jesus said to them that he was going back to Heaven but that he would not leave them alone; he would send them the Holy Spirit who would strengthen them and they would talk about Jesus.
It is important to receive the Spirit of God in our heart!
The Spirit of God fills us with his love, joy and strength!
The Spirit of God was with the children who met in the church at Kinshasa.
The Spirit of God also wants to fill your heart! Thank you! Speak to him now and tell him: Holy Spirit, come and fill my heart!

LUXEMBOURG
With the children from several churches in Luxembourg, we are going to spend a week-end together “at the feet of Jesus”. How great is that!

With the church we have a huge family, the church! It’s comforting to know that we are not alone. It’s important to be with someone who loves us, who helps and advises us. The Holy Spirit is in the church to guide it, make it beautiful, strong and pure.

EASTER – SPRING
In Europe, winter is almost over. This year it has been very cold for some. It was a very difficult time. In other countries there are other difficult seasons: torrential rain or droughts.
In the garden of Eden, in the beginning, everything was perfect because God made everything perfect in its time!
In April, it will be Easter. In lots of countries, school-children are on holiday. It’s Spring!
Easter is a Christian festival which reminds us that Jesus really did die on a cross and that three days later he rose again. Jesus is stronger than death!
In some countries, they speak of Spring festivals but they don’t want to talk of Jesus. When you see plants bursting into new life, when you see new buds, then you can think of the new life that God wants to put in your heart, thanks to Jesus!

AFRICA
Africa is a great continent where there are more than 50 countries and more than 200 principal languages.
The capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo is Kinshasa. It is the biggest city with more than 10 million inhabitants. However, it’s only the 30th largest city in the world! We’ll be going there in Spring to meet with children and their families, with churches and a large school.
